Components and Build Quality

The Fiido Nomads is a long range touring e-bike that is designed to be able to carry two extra batteries on the back so you can go on adventures without range anxiety.

You can purchase the Fiido Nomads with just one battery but the beauty of this bike lies in its 3-battery structure. The battery rack is super easy to fit to the bike using six screws and a bar that connects both sides.

This bike is also compatible with a child seat of up to 25kg and it supports trailer towing. This means that you could really make the most of this bike and its range by getting out there with the whole family.

The Fiido Nomads comes in two sizes: size Medium for riders 5”5 and 6”3, and size Large for riders between 5”9 and 6”10. So this bike has a huge compatibility range. The overall length of the bike doesn't change between the Medium and Large, but the size up means that the bike is slightly taller and the seat post can be put higher. Our 5”10 rider elected to try the Large and found it very comfortable.

Performance and Handling

The wider handlebars and bigger wheels made us feel really balanced and secure when riding this bike. Along with the suspension this bike can definitely handle a wide range of terrains: mud, paths, roads, cobblestones, frost.

The bike has three levels of assist: Eco, Sport and Boost. The assist is almost instant and the torque sensor means the delivery of power is smooth. The bike performed really well on our hill test, the motor outputting enough power to help get us up Box Hill not once…but twice!

It must be said that with all three batteries the back of the bike does definitely feel disproportionately weightier than the front of the bike. This is exacerbated by any extra cargo  you add to the pannier rack.

On our range test we were able to get 50.5miles of range out of two batteries. (This must take into account the fact that our test took place in freezing conditions and we had all three batteries on the bike, so there was some added weight.)

Safety and Security

While the battery that is fitted in the frame can be locked by a key, the batteries in the rear holder do not lock. This means that you may have to take them with you when you lock your bike if you are not comfortable leaving them on the bike unsecured.

This bike also has a fully integrated lighting system including integrated turn signals in the rear lights, making sure that you can see and be seen on the roads.
