Electrify your ride

What is a Boost conversion kit?

The complete Boost conversion kit is, well, exactly what it says on the tin – it converts a standard pedal bike into an e-bike.

It's made up of a 250W rear hub motor, a 6Ah 36V battery and a controller that all fit on your average bike.

Crucially it's cheaper than buying a brand new e-bike, opening the door to help everyone electrify their ride.

AVAILABLE TODAY! Beat the lengthy wait times for other conversion kits.

250W motor

250W motor

Just because this is a conversion kit, doesn't mean your not getting bespoke e-bike quality. The Boost system includes a 250W rear hub motor, which matches the legal limit in the UK and what you'll find on the majority of road-going electric bikes.
Smart controller

Smart controller

This is the really smart bit about the Boost kit. Their unique extra sensor design reads through the rear wheel, giving a more responsive and accurate reading of how the bike is being pedalled – the provides a far more organic and natural feel to the power delivery.
Bottle battery

Bottle battery

The Boost kit features a sleek, compact, and easy-to-use 6Ah 36V battery that connects via a 'bottle rack' style holder. It locks into place with a key, and can be removed for charging or for stashing safely in your bag whilst on the go.

Installed at your local bike shop

Don't sweat it, you don't have to bag yourself a Boost kit and then spend your next free weekend installing it. Boost have a number of approved bike shops across the UK that will be able upgrade your bike and get you back in the saddle.

Who are Boost?

Boost founder Nick Bailey created the kit as a solution to two major problems: firstly, those with bikes don't necessarily have room for a second if they live in the city; and secondly, not everyone has upwards of £1,200 to spend on an e-bike.

Nick is a keen engineer, and so he set about building his early conversion kits himself, sourcing the best motors, batteries and components he could – in addition to building his own control system to optimise the riding experience.

There was incredible demand for his product, which he sold on eBay, leading him to set up Boost bikes.

That same mantra of delivering the highest quality components in an affordable and accessible package, carries through to today.

Why do we like Boost?

For so many people buying a completely new electric bike is far too costly and simply out of reach – that's what makes conversion kits so great.

At Electroheads, we're big fans of the Boost kit and how it can make any bike feel like a high-quality e-ride. The team at Boost are proper engineers who know their stuff, and so this product is built to the highest standards.

Why conversion kits are so popular

Electric bikes are booming in their popularity amongst regular riders and those looking to take up cycling for commute, leisure, or fitness reasons – in fact more than 155,000 e-bikes were sold in the UK last year, which is triple the amount sold five years ago.

But, like with many new forms of mobility, the biggest barrier to joining the fun is price, which is exactly where e-bike conversion kits swoop in.

You could take your current bike, or even pick up a cheap replacement from a second hand store, and convert it for around £750, which is half the price of a good quality bespoke electric bike.

This way you can still access the incredible benefits of riding an e-bike regularly without the worries of a big financial commitment.

It's the cheapest way to get an e-bike, end of.
