By Richard Beech (electric scooter reviews expert):
Jeep have spent decades fostering a reputation for building solid, but stylish, vehicles that can withstand all terrains.
When I first heard they entered the e-scooter market, I honestly thought it might be a mistake. Could they apply everything they've learned about building cars to building scooters?
But in the Jeep 2xe Camou, they've successfully distilled the essence of their 4x4 trucks into a two-wheel electric scooter.
I'm impressed by the combination of ride quality and how sturdy it feels on tarmac, grass and trails.
The magnesium frame is strong but light, making this a surprisingly nimble scooter and it look sgood though. It's a striking scooter with some great design touches, and it certainly stands out in a crowd.
With its 500w motor, it's no slouch on hills or steep inclines. Add in dual suspension, chunky puncture-proof 10-inch tyres, a combination of disc and electronic brakes, and a fairly lightweight frame, it's got an impressive spec that merits the price tag.
Importantly, it really does feel and look like a Jeep! Whenever I'm asked what I drive, I can tell people I drive a Jeep that cost me less than a month's rent.
Most impressive, though, is its range of 45km/h (28 miles) - way above the standard range of an e-scooter.
Jeep have also developed an app (available on Google Play and App Store), that will give you the real-time location of your vehicle, as well as providing performance data, and providing chat assistance.
