The iScooter i9 Pro might be budget-friendly, but it doesn’t skimp on essentials. This sleek scooter boasts a top speed of 15.5 mph and a range of up to 18.6 miles, making it an excellent choice for daily commutes. We found the i9 Pro easy to fold and carry at a weight of just 13.5kg, making it a good option for those who need to hop on and off public transport or store their scooter in small spaces.

It feels well built and solid underneath you, unlike some cheap scooters which can rattle around a little.

2. iSinwheel S9 Pro - £305

iSinwheel S9

The iSinwheel S9 Pro boasts a pair of shock absorbing, anti-puncture tyres - which make it a robust and resilient scooter for daily use.

It also features a regenerative braking system, meaning that when you brake, power is put back into the battery - helping to prolong the battery life on a single chasrge.

We really liked the digital display on the iSinwheel S9 Pro, it's easy to see even in sunny weather, which can often cause glare.

At just 13kg, it's lightweight and easy to carry - this is an impressive little all-rounder.

3. Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Essential - £339

Xiaomi Mi

Xiaomi are a huge name in the electric scooter world. The Mi Electric Scooter Essential lives up to its name by delivering just what you need for city commuting, without any unnecessary extras.

We appreciated its responsive brakes and the overall quality feel of the scooter during our rides, though the top speed of 12.4mph will feel a little sluggish to the thrill seekers out there.

It comes equipped with kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) so that when you are braking or releasing the throttle while driving, the energy conversion becomes more efficient, to increase battery life.

The Xiaomi Mi is known for its ease of portability. It folds up neatly, which is ideal for those who need to take it on public transport or store it in tight spaces.

Kugoo S1 Pro

Kugoo are another big name in the world of electric scooters, and the Kugoo S1 Pro is a standout with its impressive top speed of 18.6 mph, making it one of the fastest scooters we tested for this article.

It boast some rather chunky tyres, and a small amount of shock absorption on the front, making it less tiresome on the wrists than some other scooters in its price range.

ENGWE Y10

The ENGWE Y10 is one of the longest range scooters on this list. With a 350W motor, it offers a range of up to 40 miles and a top speed of 15.5 mph. During our tests, we found the Y10 to be incredibly durable, handling everything from fairly steep hills to bumpy roads with ease.

The real world range didn't quite live up to the claim of 40 miles, but it still fared the best out of any scooter on this list.

If you need something that’s built to last and don’t mind spending a bit more, the Y10 is a fantastic choice.
