Power & Performance
Battery
Battery
Batteries come in different voltages (V) and amp hours (ah).

Amp hours refers to the amount of electrical charge the battery can product in an hour, while voltage determines (in part) the power output of the battery.

Most e-bikes and e-scooters will have lithium-ion batteries.
Lithium standard slimline 360Wh or long range 540Wh Lithium
Motor
Motor
The motor is what provides assistance. The number of Watts produced by the motor (e.g. 250W), refers to the power output of the motor. The higher the wattage of the motor, the more powerful it is.
In the UK, the maximum legal power output of an e-bike for use on public roads and footpaths is 250W.
Wisper High efficiency, 250W hi torque brushless motor
Max Speed
Max Speed
The maximum speed that an e-bike can go when pedalled.
In the UK, the legal speed limit of e-bikes is 15.5mph.
15.5mph
Range
Range
The "Range" refers to the number of miles that the battery will assist you while you cycle.

The range of any e-bike or e-scooter is highly sensitive to the weight of the rider, style of riding, terrain traversed or level of assistance used, to name a few.
110km
Gears
Gears
Having gears, from a company such as Shimano, makes cycling up and over hills easier.
Cycling in a lower gear means less pedalling effort and less speed.
Cycling in a higher gear means more pedalling effort and more speed.

Most e-bikes will come with 7 or 8 gears.
Shimano 9-speed

Brakes
Brakes
Hydraulic disk brakes on e-bikes use fluid pressure for actuation, providing smoother and more precise braking, while mechanical disk brakes use a cable system for actuation, offering a simpler design but potentially requiring more maintenance.
Wisper Hydraulic 180mm disc front and 160mm disc rear
Front Suspension
Front Suspension
Having front suspension soaks up bumps (like potholes!) and makes for a smoother ride.
None
Rear Suspension
Rear Suspension
Like front suspension, rear suspension makes for a smoother ride by absorbing bumps.
None
Tyres
Tyres
Tyres come in a variety of sizes and compounds.
Smoother tyres are better for the road, while tyres with a more pronounced tread are better for gravel or off-road riding.

Max Rider Weight
Max Rider Weight
The maximum weight the product can handle when ridden.

Features
Display
Display
E-bikes and e-scooters have a display to show, among other things, the e-bike or e-scooter's projected range, level of assistance and total distance covered.

Displays can be black and white, colour, waterproof or non-waterproof.
Wisper Back lit LCD display with remote controls
Lights
Lights
Lumens measure the total quantity of visible light emitted by a light source, indicating its brightness.
