About the Electroheads Marketplace

Why have we launched it?

In 2020, Electroheads launched as a media channel with the mission of spreading the unique joy of electric power. Our aim was, and still is, to accelerate the adoption of e-mobility throughout the world - encouraging people to switch from fossil fuel-powered vehicles to electric cars, e-bikes and electric scooters.

We’ve reviewed many, many e-bikes and e-scooters on our YouTube channel in the past two years, but what you haven’t seen are the bikes and scooters we decided not to feature on our channel - the ones that look good online, but that don’t live up to the promise.

There are 1000s of e-bike and e-scooter companies out there, and we get hundreds of messages every week from viewers who want help deciding which one to buy, or who have ordered from a company we’ve never heard of, telling us they’ve paid for the product but it hasn’t arrived.

So we’ve decided to make life easier for our audience by creating a space where you can buy products that we’ve tested, and that we love, directly from brands we trust.

What is it?

The Electroheads Shop is a curated marketplace featuring brands that have been hand-selected by us. These are brands whose products we’ve tested, whose bosses we’ve met, and whose customer service is second to none.

When you purchase a product from Electroheads, it will be shipped to you directly by the brand. All customer service will be handled not just by the partner brands, but also by Electroheads. Have any problems, come to us and we’ll get it sorted.

FAQ:

Won’t your YouTube channel just become a series of adverts for the products on your shop?

No! This would be a betrayal of the audience we’ve worked so hard to build over the past two years, it would also be a pretty stupid move from a business perspective. We want our audience to keep growing, and to do that, we need to keep making content you guys love. 

Our channel will feature products from our shop, but the majority of videos will be about cars, scooters and bikes that we don’t sell.

Won’t your reviews just be biased towards the products on your shop?

To answer this, we want to explain how our review process works.

A company will contact us asking for their product to be featured on our channel. Rich (our editorial director) receives around 30 of these emails every day (lucky guy)!

We research the company by looking at their user reviews, looking at any information we can find from third parties. If they get past this stage, we ask them to send us their product so we can put it through its paces.

Most products DO NOT get past this phase. We end up sending most products straight back to the manufacturer, usually with our constructive criticism on how to improve them, and we wish them the best of luck.

The products that do make it onto our channel are the ones that stand up to test riding, and that we think provide good value for money.

The absolute best products out of this group are the ones we then choose to feature on the Electroheads Marketplace.

So a product only goes onto our shop AFTER it gets a good review - not the other way around.

Can any brand join the marketplace?

No - brands have to be manually added to the marketplace by our team, and brands cannot apply to be on the marketplace. The shop is curated and handpicked by our team.

Can I come and test ride the products at Electroheads HQ?

Not yet, but we are working on this! We will have an update ASAP.

When will the shop be available in my country?

Being able to ship globally is a huge priority for us, and something we’re working on. Our focus initially will be on the UK (because that’s where we’re based), but we will be expanding as soon as we can.
